Dr. Heather Meyers
Founder, Owner, and Veterinarian

Dr. Heather Meyers

Dr. Heather Meyers is the owner of Carolina Pets, and serves all her patients and clients with the benefit of more than 20 years of experience.

She is a resident of Waxhaw where she lives with her husband, three children (all red-heads), dog (Malone), cats (Sweet Snow Spot and Ty), and horse (Gryffindor). Dr. Meyers’ special interests are internal medicine, geriatric medicine, critical care, ultrasound, feline medicine, and acupuncture. She is a member of the AVMA, NCVMA, IVAS, and AAFP, and Fear Free certified. Dr. Meyers graduated with honors from Tufts University of Verterinary Medicine in 2002. Dr. Meyers also has been trained in eastern medicine and acupuncture and believes that acupuncture can complement traditional medicine in some areas, especially pain management.

Dr. Meyers is active with Christian Veterinary Mission, and recently participated in a veterinary mission trip Haiti. Dr. Meyers is a member of Union United Methodist Church, works with the Common Cupboard Food Pantry in Waxhaw, and often can be found giving the children’s sermon. Dr. Meyers is a breast cancer survivor and supports the Susan G. Komen Foundation, leading “Heather’s Heroes” at the Race for the Cure. She believes that being on the other side of treatment for a major illness has given her a special perspective when relating to her own animal patients. In her free time, Dr. Meyers enjoys running, yoga, and theater.
