CalmCare

What is CalmCare?

Carolina Pets practices CalmCare, a soothing methodology to allow your stressed-out pet to receive extraordinary veterinary care in a calming and comforting atmosphere. Carolina Pets combines the best elements of Dr. Sophia Yin’s Low Stress Handling University with the expertise of twelve Carolina Pets staff members that have been fear free certified. CalmCare’s low stress techniques enable us to provide a calmer, safer and more inviting environment for your pet. We treat every interaction with your pet from your pet’s perspective. This means that staff members’ body language, how your pet is touched, and the sounds and smells of the hospital are all carefully coordinated to soothe, calm, and comfort your pet. Among other techniques, we use pheromone diffusers, warm table covers (we wish our human doctors would use these), and many treats! If you are bringing a feline friend, we provide in advance of your visit a complimentary kitty comfort kit that helps make their visit more enjoyable.  Please phone us with any questions about CalmCare before your visit.
