Quality is never an accident. We go the extra distance in service, training, and education. It shows. Carolina Pets is one of a small percentage of animal hospitals in NC accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.

Is your veterinary hospital AAHA accredited?

We at Carolina Pets Animal Hospital proudly hold this distinction. Only 15% of all animal hospitals in North America are accredited by AAHA. Accreditation by AAHA means we’ve passed a voluntary inspection of more than 900 standards and that we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care for our patients.

You can visit our AAHA page here.

Most pet owners don’t realize that standards of excellence are not a requirement in veterinary medicine like they are in human medicine. The American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the US and Canada.

Veterinary practices that accept the challenge of accreditation are evaluated on stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of pet care including: surgery, dental and nursing care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, pet health records, cleanliness, emergency services, human resources, continuing education and leadership.

Carolina Pets Animal Hospital became accredited after just ten months of being open which is quite the feat as hospitals may not even undergo the inspection for six months after opening.

American Association of Feline Practitioners

American Association of Feline Practitioners Logo

Improving the health and welfare of cats.

The American Association of Feline Practitioners improves the health and welfare of cats by supporting high standards of practice, continuing education, and scientific investigation.

The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) believes that all practitioners who practice feline medicine should be members of the association. The AAFP has been instrumental in driving feline veterinary care through the publication of Practice Guidelines and Position Statements, the development of Feline Focused CE at conferences, research, and membership news and benefits.

Cat Friendly Practice Logo

We are a cat friendly practice.

The Cat Friendly Practice (CFP) program contains the tools for practices to integrate a feline perspective and embrace the standards needed to elevate care for cats.

The Cat Friendly Practice program seeks to transform and elevate the delivery of feline veterinary care by:

  • Laying the groundwork for the delivery of care to the underserved feline population.
  • Identifying trends and baseline species information essential for understanding cats.
  • Acknowledging the essential role of the cat owner in the veterinary visit.
  • Providing support to veterinarians and their teams to create a cat friendly practice environment.
  • Outlining strategies for introducing changes in the delivery of care that incorporate a better understanding of the cat’s distinct needs and behaviors.

BBB Business Reviews generally explain the most significant factors that raised or lowered a business’ grade.

BBB assigns letter grades from A+ (highest) to F (lowest).

In some cases, BBB will not grade the business (indicated by an NR, or “No Rating”) for reasons that include insufficient information about a business or ongoing review/update of the business’ file. BBB Business Reviews generally explain the most significant factors that raised or lowered a business’ grade. BBB grades are not a guarantee of a business’ reliability or performance, and BBB recommends that consumers consider a business’ grade in addition to all other available information about the business.

  • Length of time business has been operating.

Factors that raised Carolina Pets Animal Hospital’s rating include:
